Indications:

This product is intended for diagnostic purposes only.

IASOdopa is intended for use in positron emission tomography (PET).

Neurology

PET using IASOdopa is indicated for detecting the loss of functional dopaminergic neuron endings in the striatum. It can be used to diagnose Parkinson’s disease and to differentiate essential tremor from parkinsonian syndromes.

Oncology

Among imaging systems in healthcare, PET using IASOdopa offers a functional approach to pathological conditions, organs, or tissues where the diagnostic target is increased intracellular transport and decarboxylation of the amino acid dihydroxyphenylalanine. The following indications are particularly documented:

**Diagnosis**

– Diagnosis and localization of insulinomas in cases of hyperinsulinism in infants and children,
– Diagnosis and localization of glomus tumors in patients with a gene mutation of the D succinate dehydrogenase variant,
– Localization of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma negative on MIBG-(123I) scintigraphy.

**Staging**

– Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma

**Detection in case of reasonable suspicion of recurrence of residual disease**

– Primary brain tumors,
– Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma negative on MIBG-(123I) scintigraphy,
– Medullary thyroid carcinoma with elevated serum calcitonin levels,
– Well-differentiated carcinoids of the digestive tract.

Other endocrine tumors of the digestive tract if somatostatin receptor scintigraphy is negative.
